How we work
We customize every part of our work around you and your project. Below is a general guide — each project is steered by whatever best achieves your specific goals.
We get to know your goals — aesthetic, needs, budget, timeline — then translate them into sketches, layouts, and curated material palettes that define the scope of your space.
Renderings and 3D walk-throughs bring the design to life. We refine layouts, fixtures, and finishes, then coordinate engineers and submit to your board, the DOB, and Landmarks for a smooth approval.
We organize and compare contractor bids for competitive pricing, then stay present on-site throughout construction — handling inspections, reviewing payments, and keeping you updated every step.
We work the punch list with your team, conduct a final walkthrough before last payments, and coordinate move-in with trusted partners. Your new space is ready — take it from a house to a home.
The studio
Our team loves the details of building houses — from crafting original designs to navigating co-op boards and finding the right contractors.
Neil founded TNB in 2015 to deliver full-service architecture without the hassle of confusing, shifting timeframes and pricing. He proves through his work that environmental solutions exist on a spectrum — from certified Passive House to a "very good house" — and that a thoughtfully built home is beautiful, comfortable, healthy, and good for the planet. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, three kids, and their rabbit, Oreo.
A 2017 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Architecture, Shannon works closely with clients to bring their ideas to life, with a special interest in sustainable projects.
Chaerin graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Spitzer School of Architecture at CCNY. Beyond her work at TNB, she is published on architecture and is co-founder and senior editor of Primaverarch in New York.
